Yet another web controlled garage door

Post by gregington » Sat Oct 05, 2013 11:24 am

Apologies if this isn't that interesting, as I'm sure garage door automation has been done to death, but it is my first "real" Arduino project.

I've used an EtherTen to control my garage door from my internal network. I'm using this mostly from my phone when I'm riding my bike so that I don't need to carry the remote when I'm riding my bike (as I always carry my phone).

So it:
  • Listens to GET and POST requests to activate a relay that controls the garage door.
  • Uses a pair of hall effect sensors to determine whether the door is open or closed
  • Has an RGB LED to show what state it thinks the is in (open, closed or unknown)
The full details (and source) are on my blog.

Well done, you can never have too many options or alternatives to solving a problem.
