OK, so, this is actually a PCB layout which has not yet actually been physically manufactured.
Does that count as a project? Let's say yes.
This is an ATmega8U2 circuit set up as a USB virtual serial port, basically very similar to the hardware you've got on an Arduino Uno or an Eleven or similar, except put on its own little separate breakout board, like an FTDI cable. This was inspired by the handy little FT232 USB-serial breakout boards sold by Sparkfun.
This has all the same usefulness of those compact little boards, except it's much faster, can be configured to present a unique description/name in the OS, and the other advantages we get from the ATmega8U2 hardware.
