Disable driver signing

Post by tim94928 » Sun Dec 29, 2013 2:34 pm

I'm considering using the Etherten for a high school class, but I feel pretty uncomfortable telling students to "disable driver signing" as described here: http://www.freetronics.com/pages/instal ... or-windows

It sounds like I would be making their computers less secure.

a) Is this just a temporary step, i.e. after the INF file is installed then driver signing can be turned back on?

b) If not, then are you planning to sign your drivers soon?

That will be the procedure for the forseeable future. Once you install the driver the machine can go back to normal secure mode.

Probably a bit late in this case, sorry, but we now have signed drivers for Windows:

Thanks for updating the drivers! We will use them in the coming school year.
