PIN13 LED while using Ethernet?

The EtherTen combines an Uno-equivalent Arduino-compatible board and Wiznet-based Ethernet support, along with a microSD card slot and Power-over-Ethernet support. [Product page]

PIN13 LED while using Ethernet?

Post by oobles » Sat Jun 08, 2013 6:11 am

I've run the simple Blink example on the EtherTen and can see the red LED blink. However, if I perform a Ethernet.begin(mac,ip) in setup of the blink demo the red LED stops blinking. From what I've read the Ethernet shield uses pin 13. Does this mean it's impossible to use the blinking light while using Ethernet?

Thanks,
David.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm building a simple tutorial at the moment that uses the Ethernet capabilities of the EtherTen. Is there any other LEDs I can control or sensors I can get data from that is inbuilt to the EtherTen or Arduino's in general?

Thanks,
David.
