Re: Ethernet diagnosis help

c) I discovered that for some reason either the linux version of the IDE was somehow not allowing me to use an 8s watchdog timeout, so i was forced to change this to 2s Perhaps the WDTO_8S constant is missing from the avrlibc (underlying C library) version on the Linux install you have? I just had ...

Re: Ethernet diagnosis help

Firstly, should also note that the since Sleurhutje's post i have also been able to find more details on the reset behaviour (soft vs electric reset) in an older post on this forum. For completeness the following is in interesting read http://forum.freetronics.com/viewtopic.php?t=24http://forum.fre...

Re: Ethernet diagnosis help

Hi Andrew, What a frustrating problem. As Sleurhutje points out, the watchdog timer won't assert the hardware RESET pin on the W5100 the same way a hard reset will. However, at startup the Arduino Ethernet library does perform a software reset of the W5100 (which will happen on both WDT resets and h...

Re: What is the trick to get windows 7 working with card

:!: Information in this post is now out of date, see the LeoStick Getting Started Guide I did some more testing and identified a bug in the LeoStick board profile, causing problems depending on which Arduino IDE versions you had installed. Testing Board Profile A new version of the LeoStick board pr...

Re: leostick not installing on xp

Hi Mike, I have a new version of the LeoStick board profile ready for testing. Can you please download this v3.0 board profile and unzip it in your Arduino\hardware directory (same as the existing board profiles.) If you have existing board profiles (either LeoStick_v1 or LeoStick_v2) then you'll ne...

Re: 433Mhz shield on an Arduino Mega2560

Hi Edgley, Sorry for the delay in responding. Sounds like a fun project, so many power meters! I'm not sure what you mean by ICP, but the 433 Mhz receiver shield only uses digital pin 8 for receiving data, the same pin on Megas as on smaller Arduinos. So it should be hardware compatible. The Virtual...

Re: leostick not installing on xp

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your patience with this. I've identified the issue with the LeoStick profile that I believe is causing the problem, should have an update for you tomorrow.

Re: Wiz Heat

Hi James, Yes, unfortunately the W5100 is infamous for running unusually hot. It's not a danger to the chip, it can get too hot to touch but should still stay below the standard industrial temperature limit of 85C. It's such a commonly mentioned characteristic that jonoxer & I were talking the other...

Re: Ethernet fails connecting after a while

One observation I have that I did not read in other posts, is that I do NOT have to reset the Wiznet based shield or the Mega, but ONLY need to unplug the ethernet cable from the shield and plug it back in. Then, everything continues to run. Have any others observed this? Weird. I haven't seen this...
