Re: 4x4x4 RGB led cube

Got one of these from Jaycar on Saturday. Assembly went fine - about 3 hours total - very nice. When I power it up, it works through each of the LED's in turn (all seem to work). After the initial test scan, it doesn't then go into the "twinkling random colours" mode mentioned in the assembly docume...

Re: New RTC Module?

I've added the RTC::readTemperature() function to my library (URL's in the thread above), together with a DumpRTC example that dumps the time, date, and temperature reported by a DS3232 once a second: https://raw.github.com/rweather/arduinolibs/master/libraries/RTC/examples/DumpRTC/DumpRTC.pde Readi...

Re: New RTC Module?

Just got mine from Jaycar as well, although I had already built my clock with a DS1307 SparkFun module. But what the heck - one can never have too many clocks so I'm sure I'll find a use for the Freetronics one eventually. I've been building a nice collection of helper libraries and example apps lat...

Re: Detaching the power LED

Hmmm ... on second thought, maybe it would be easier to just build a KitTen and leave off the bits I don't need. I also don't need the power supply or USB interface as I'm playing around with a hand-cranked dynamo and NiMH batteries for the power source anyway (a wind-up clock!). Every extra compone...

Detaching the power LED

Working on a project (an alarm clock of course!) with the Eleven that will eventually be sealed inside a box, and I'd rather the box not have a pale blue glow from the power LED bleeding out the gaps in the box keeping me awake at night. The red status led is easy to deal with - just set D13 to LOW....

Arduino-based PIC programmer

Hi all, I recently got into Arduino - all Freetronics boards and shields of course - and after doing the usual newbie "blink a LED" and "show something on the LCD shield" stuff, I turned my hand to something a little more challenging - a programmer for PIC microcontrollers! The old RS-232 based prog...
